Hettie Martin

Hettie Martin, age 83 departed this life on Friday, March 21, 2025 at her home. She was born on Thursday, May 8, 1941 in Manchester, Kentucky to James (Jimmy) Estep and Nellie (Sizemore) Estep. She was a housekeeper and a caregiver. She was a member of the Morgan Branch Baptist Church.

She leaves to mourn her passing her sons: Mitchell Martin and James (Jimmy) Martin; 6 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; special friends of the family: Scotty and Agnes Jewell. Also, surviving are two sisters: Nancy Lunsford and Minnie Murrell.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Jimmy and Nellie Estep; her husband: Charlie Martin; her son: Jeffrey Martin; these brothers: Hogan Bowling, Raleigh Estep, Raymond Estep, James Charles Estep; these sisters: Geneva Holiday, Margie Turner, Kathy Maybree, Sally Hill and Bernadine Estep.

Funeral Services for Hettie Martin will be conducted on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at 1:00 P. M. at the Morgan Branch Baptist Church. Rev. Scotty Jewell and Charles Glen Martin will be presiding. Burial will follow in the Stivers-Baker Cemetery in the Island Creek Community.

The family will receive friends and loved ones on Monday from 6:00 P. M. until 9:00 P. M. at the Morgan Branch Baptist Church.
