Brumley Arrested for Public Intoxication

A Manchester man was arrested Saturday after authorities responded to a report of an intoxicated individual behind the Save-A-Lot grocery store.
According to Clay County Sheriff Patrick Robinson, Chief Deputy Clifton Jones was dispatched to the scene on March 22, 2025, following a 911 call regarding a person who appeared to be under the influence.
Upon arrival, Deputy Jones located a man matching the provided description. The individual was reportedly unsteady on his feet and exhibited slurred speech. When questioned, he admitted to smoking marijuana.
The suspect, identified as 22-year-old Michael Brumley of Manchester, was taken into custody and charged with public intoxication – controlled substance (excluding alcohol). He was also served with a bench warrant for court.
Brumley was transported to the Clay County Detention Center.
