Trent Baker appointed coroner

Former deputy sheriff and public information officer Trent Baker has been appointed to fulfill the term of coroner. 
County Judge-Executive Tommy Harmon made the announcement Wednesday afternoon.  
Baker will fill the vacant position immediately and serve the term of Joe Crockett, who resigned nearly two weeks ago.  
Baker said he is honored to serve the people of Clay County and thanks the judge-executive for giving him the opportunity.  
“I appreciate the confidence Judge Harmon has in giving me this position,” he said.  “I will serve the people of Clay County to my upmost ability.”
