Hodges passed out behind wheel

January 08, 2025

Clay County Sheriff, Patrick Robinson, reports that on January 5th, 2025 Deputy Dustin Henson responded to a call through Clay County Dispatch of a suspicious vehicle stopped in the middle of the roadway with its left turn signal on and that it had been sitting there for a long period of time.
Upon arrival Deputy Henson made contact with the vehicle and driver, Mariah Hodges. Hodges was passed out behind the wheel, in the driver seat, with the engine running and the vehicle in drive. After Deputy Henson knocking on the window multiple times Hodges finally woke up. Upon Deputy Henson asking for the drivers information and why she was stopped in the roadway, Hodges had very slurred speech and glossy eyes and could not give Deputy Henson an explanation to why she was passed out behind the wheel in the roadway. Upon asking Hodges to step out of the vehicle to perform SFST's she had trouble keeping her balance nearly falling to the ground and had trouble staying awake. Hodges also admitted to taking neurontin and also stated she had took a blue pill she could not specify. Upon running Hodges mentioned information through dispatch it was determined that her license had been DUl suspended and the vehicle information showed title only and Hodges could not show proof of insurance. Also, the registration plate did not go to the vehicle.
Mariah Hodges, 29, was arrested for:
