Well-known businessman Pete Perrin dies

Charles “Pete” Perrin, manager of Wendy’s and Manchester Tourism Commissioner, died after a brief illness Thursday.
Perrin, 72, is survived by his wife Norma. Pete, as he was known widely by, was also a longtime manager of one of Clay County’s largest stores-Dobson’s Supermarket.
He entered the fast-food industry as manager of Wendy’s and won numerous Best of the Best awards presented by The Enterprise.
Tim Parks, Director of the Manchester Tourism Commission, says Perrin was valuable for his leadership.
“He made the motion to hire me,” Parks said. “You don’t forget things like that. He cleaned our office windows, and helped to do whatever was needed at the office. He took a lot of pride as a tourism commissioner and manager of Wendy’s. I’m going to miss him tremendously.”
The Manchester Tourism Commission issued the following statement following Perrin’s passing:
“Words are inadequate to express the sorrow that we feel at having to say goodbye to one of our most valuable Commissioners, Pete Perrin. We have been more than just people working together…we have become a family, and we have missed him and will continue to miss him so much. We extend our sincere condolences and prayers to all his family, his work family, and his many friends. Rest in Peace Pete. You will forever be in our hearts.”
Shannon Saylor-Feltner worked with Perrin for over 13 years at Wendy’s.
“I’ve been his right hand for over 13 years and there’s still not one single day that goes by that I don’t need him,” she said. “I love Pete and Norma with all that’s in me.”
