Manchester Man Arrested for Driving on DUI-Suspended License
May 05, 2025

MANCHESTER — A Manchester man was arrested Friday evening after authorities say he was caught driving with a DUI-suspended license and without wearing a seatbelt.
Clay County Sheriff Patrick Robinson reported that on May 2, 2025, Deputy Dustin Henson responded to assist Kentucky State Police Trooper Jarrod Smith during a traffic stop in the parking lot of Dairy Queen in Manchester.
According to Trooper Smith, he observed a maroon Ford F-150 traveling northbound on South U.S. Highway 421, swerving across lanes and crossing the double yellow line multiple times. After stopping the vehicle, Smith made contact with the driver, identified as 63-year-old Johnny Hoskins of Manchester.
Hoskins was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt and was found to be operating the vehicle on a DUI-suspended license. Clay County Dispatch confirmed that his license was suspended due to multiple DUI offenses, with this being at least his third offense.
Hoskins was taken into custody without incident and charged with failure to wear seat belts and driving on a DUI-suspended license (third offense). He was lodged in the Clay County Detention Center.
A healthy Clay County requires great community news.
