Man Arrested After Causing Disturbance, Damaging Equipment at Gas Station

May 22, 2025

MANCHESTER, Ky. — A Sizerock man was arrested Sunday after allegedly causing a disturbance and damaging property at a local gas station, according to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff Patrick Robinson reported that on May 18, 2025, Deputy Dustin Henson responded to a call at Colson’s Gas Station regarding a male subject who was reportedly causing problems and had triggered the emergency shut-off valve for the gas pumps.

Upon arrival, Deputy Henson, along with Manchester Police Officer J. Smith, spoke with the complainants and the property owner. Witnesses stated that the individual, identified as Christopher Hensley, had been at the station for most of the morning, banging on the doors and windows and refusing to leave after being asked multiple times.

According to the report, Hensley had also entered one of the property owner’s vehicles without permission. When questioned, Hensley admitted to Officer Smith that he got inside the vehicle in an attempt to get warm.

In addition to trespassing, Hensley was accused of activating the gas station’s emergency fuel shut-off valve, an act that the owner says will cost the business approximately $800 to have a technician reset or repair.

Hensley, 35, was taken into custody and charged with first-degree criminal mischief and first-degree criminal trespass. He was lodged in the Clay County Detention Center.

The investigation is ongoing.
