Kathleen Baker

Kathleen Baker, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2025, at Advent Health in Manchester, Kentucky. Born on December 30, 1963, Kathleen was known for her warmth, her kind heart, and her unwavering devotion to her family and faith.

Kathleen’s life revolved around her loved ones; she cherished her husband, Charles Ray Baker, with whom she shared nearly 36 years of marriage since their union on March 20, 1989. She leaves behind two devoted daughters, Rebecca Hensley and Terry of Smilax, KY, and Charlene Baker of Wooton, KY;  Her beloved grandchildren: Isabella, Gabriella, Colton, Corbin, and Nathan. They brought  happiness to her life, and she found nothing more fulfilling than spending quality time with them.

Kathleen was a nurturing and selfless individual, often described by those who knew her as having the sweetest and kindest heart. Her love extended not only to her family but also to her friends, relatives, and church. Kathleen found joy in tending to her flower bed, cultivating beautiful blooms of flowers. She delighted in her favorite TV shows, which brought her much enjoyment, but above all, she held her faith close to her heart. Attending church, feeling the presence of the Lord, and sharing her love for Him was biggest part of her life. 

In addition to her husband and children, Kathleen leaves behind her two brothers, Hershel Pennington and his wife Ann of Smilax, Kentucky, and Willie Pennington of Wooton, Kentucky; her two sisters, Wilma Adams and her husband Bill of Wooton, Kentucky, and Patricia Kilburn of Smilax, Kentucky. Kathleen is also survived by a host of other treasured relatives and friends.

Kathleen was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Larkin Pennington and Hazel Pennington Clark, as well as her brother, Jimmy Pennington, and her infant sister, Mary Ann Pennington. 

The funeral service to commemorate Kathleen's life will be held at 1p.m. Thursday, May 29, 2025 at the Full Gospel Church of Jesus Christ with Rev. Billy Joe Lewis officiating.

Interment will follow the service at the Full Gospel Church of Jesus Christ Cemetery with Terry Hensley, Jr., Billy Adams, Mike Kilburn, Michael Day, Jimmy Darrell Fouts, Charles Ray Baker, and Justin Coots serving as pallbearers.

Friends and family may gather for visitation from 11a.m. until the service hour at 1p.m. Thursday at the church,
