Roy L. Hibbard

Roy L. Hibbard, a beloved brother and devoted friend, passed away on Tuesday, April 15, 2025. Roy was born on August 2, 1953, in Manchester, KY. He was a man of strong character, inherent kindness, and had a captivating spirit that made him truly unforgettable.
Roy dedicated his working life to the auto industry, retiring from General Motors after a long and rewarding career. His devotion to his work was only surpassed by his love for his family and his hobbies. Roy found joy in life's simple pleasures. He loved driving in his cars. His competitive spirit was evident when playing pool or poker, where he reveled in good-natured rivalry. His hobbies were a reflection of his personality - full of life, energy, and an ever-present sense of adventure.
Roy was preceded in death by his father, William Hibbard, and his mother, Priscilla Hibbard-Wells; sister, Margie Durham; brothers, Franky Hibbard and "Junior" Hibbard; brothers-in-law, Arrie Sizemore and Charlie Hopkins; and by the love of his life, Tracy Smallwood.
He is survived by his siblings, Carol Hopkins, Martha Sizemore, Carly Hibbard, Delmer Wells (Debbie), and Bobby Wells (Retha); and by numerous nieces and nephews, including a special nephew who was like a son to him, Cayden Smallwood.
Visitation for Roy Hibbard will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, from 12noon until 1 pm at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home. His funeral will then be held at 1 pm on Tuesday with Rev. Greg McClain officiating.
Burial will follow in the Calvary Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Kenneth Smallwood, Cayden Smallwood, Bobby Wells, Delmer Wells, Kendel Sizemore, and Dennis.
