Louisville Police Arrest Second Suspect in Brutal Assault Outside East End Restaurant

March 25, 2025

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – A man accused of participating in a violent assault outside an east Louisville restaurant earlier this month has been arrested.

Louisville Metro Police took 19-year-old Malakhi Weathers-Parker into custody Monday morning. Authorities had been searching for him since March 8, when he and another suspect, Seth Jones, allegedly tracked down and attacked a group of three individuals.

According to police reports, the altercation began outside Malone’s on Summit Plaza, where Weathers-Parker and Jones were taking a photo. As the victims drove past, they allegedly made a remark, saying, “Say cheese.” Police say the comment offended Weathers-Parker and Jones, prompting them to pursue the group and launch a brutal assault.

One of the victims sustained severe head trauma, including a brain bleed.

Jones was arrested last week, and after police circulated photos of Weathers-Parker seeking public assistance, a flood of tips led to his capture.

Weathers-Parker now faces multiple charges, including strangulation, unlawful transaction with a minor, and assault. He is scheduled for arraignment on Tuesday, March 25.
