Gillis Allen

Gillis Allen, 72, of Manchester, KY, passed away Thursday, March 13th, at the Baptist Health Hospital in Lexington, KY

Gillis was born in Manchester, KY on October 3, 1952, a son of the late Brack and Laura Reid Allen.

Gillis is survived by his wife, Kathy Hoskins Allen of Manchester; and his children: Gillis Ryan (Karrie ) Allen of Manchester, Jeanie Sumner of London, Michelle (Carl) Eagle of London, Daphne (Adam) Vanhoosier of Somerset, Monica Henson of Manchester, and Nicole (Nick) Hoskins of Manchester.

He is also survived by two sisters: Phyllis (Frank) White of Louisville, and Norma Allen of Stinnett; and by his grandchildren: Justin, Tori, Austin, Cody (Maddie), Cassidy (Isaiah), Noah, and Trevor; and by several great-grandchildren, all that he loved and adored.

Also surviving are several nieces and nephews, that he loved as his own; and by a host of family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Gillis was preceded in death by the following brothers and sisters: Wood Reid, Verda Reid, Stanley Allen, Leeman Allen, Harold Allen, and Dora Lee Allen.

Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, March 17th at Britton Funeral Home, with, Jimmy Ward officiating. Burial will follow at the Harts Branch Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at 6:00 PM on Sunday, March 16th at Britton Funeral Home.
