ORLANDO, Fl. – Florida has been unkind to the Tigers throughout Christmas break, as their red-hot streak came to a screeching halt. Once unbeaten at 6-0, the Tigers have dropped three tightly contested games to out-of-state competition. Clay County was defeated 67-57 by Viewmont (Bountiful, Utah), 60-59 by Jackson (Massillon, OH), and 52-49 by Colonial (Orlando, FL).
Viewmont 67 Clay 57 – The Tigers fall in a narrow 10-point loss to Viewmont, Utah. Aiden Wagers led Clay County with 24 points and seven rebounds. Junior forward Adon Grubb posted a double-double, scoring 16 points while pulling down 11 rebounds. Sharpshooter Jacob Rogers added eight points on two three pointers and a lay in, while Brody Hooker added five, and Isaiah Bundy with four.
Massillon 60 Clay 59 – A nail-biting loss for the Tigers as they fell by one point. Adon Grubb poured in another double-double as he led the team with 21 points and 11 rebounds. Aiden Wagers contributed 13 points and five rebounds, while Jay Nicholson had nine points. Jacob Rogers added seven, Isaiah Bundy with four, Brody Hooker three, and Maxton Gray with two.
Colonial 52 Clay 49 – The Tigers dropped their final game at the Gaylord Palms Resort to a local team in a close contest. Only four Tigers scored in the loss, but they each did it to the tune of double figures. Adon Grubb led the team with 14 points, Isaiah Bundy added 12, Jacob Rogers 12, and Aiden Wagers rounded things out with 11 points. Grubb completed the trifecta on the trip, posting a third triple double as he also snagged 10 rebounds. Bundy finished with seven boards as well.
