LOG MOUNTAIN, Ky. – Alivia Hoskins dominant effort in the pitching circle led the Lady Tigers past a strong Bell County team, defeating them 4-3 on the road. Hoskins struck out 11 Lady Cats while only allowing five hits. The win marked the 6th victory for Clay County this season.
The Lady Tiger offense was humming along, as Alivia Hoskins, Anna Samples, Madison Sizemore and Sydney Stewart each doubled in the win. Sizemore and Hoskins each had two hits and an RBI to lead the way. Anna Samples, Holly Hacker, Ella Samples, Casey Lust, and Sydney Stewart each finished with just one hit in the win.
Coach Jason Rice was proud of his team holding off a late Bell County rally. “They made a comeback in the late innings, but our girls held on,” said Rice. “Very proud of the effort given by all tonight. These girls are working hard and will continue to do so.”

HAZARD 6, CLAY 1
MANCHESTER, Ky. – A rough first inning spelled doom for the Lady Tigers, as Hazard’s four run first inning was too much to overcome, handing Clay a 6-1 loss on Monday evening. The pitching duo of Annabelle Lovett and Casey Lust handled the pitchers circle, as Lovett tossed three innings, striking out one, while Lust pitched three, striking out two.
Hazard jumped ahead 4-0 in the first and never looked back. Clay County got on the board with a run in the 3rd but couldn’t push runs across despite finishing with eight hits. Sometimes, that’s just how it falls in the game of softball. Alivia Hoskins finished with two hits while Ella Samples and Maddie Craft each had a double. Emi Reynolds, Holly Hacker and Madison Sizemore singled in the win as well.

PINEVILLE 3, CLAY 2
PINEVILLE, Ky. – Clay County loses in a nailbiter after falling 3-2 to Pineville on the last play of the game. An inside the park home run was the dagger in what had been a pitching duel for most innings. The Lady Tigers used a committee, as AnnaBelle Lovett pitched three innings, and Casey Lust did as well. Lovett struck out three, while Lust nabbed four.
Scoreless through four innings, Clay County and Pineville both got on the board in the 5th inning with a run each. Clay mustered three hits on offense, with Ryleigh Chesnut, Holly Hacker and Alivia Hoskins each getting a single in the loss. Clay took the lead in the bottom of the sixth up 2-1, but the walk-off led to the loss.
