Manchester Enterprise/First National Bank Tournament to Feature Four Clay County Elementary Teams

MANCHESTER, Ky. — The excitement is building as the Manchester Enterprise/First National Bank Spider Thurman Bowl Championships are set to take place Saturday, October 18, at Clay County Middle School. The annual event will feature both junior varsity and varsity competition among four local elementary schools: Manchester, Burning Springs, Paces Creek, and Hacker Elementary.

The day’s action will kick off at 4:30 p.m. with the Junior Varsity Consolation Game, as Manchester takes on Burning Springs.

At 5:30 p.m., the Junior Varsity Championship matchup will feature Hacker against Paces Creek in what promises to be an exciting contest between two of the county’s top JV squads.

Following that, the Varsity Consolation Game is set for 6:30 p.m., with Paces Creek meeting Burning Springs.

The evening will conclude with the Varsity Championship Game at 7:30 p.m., as Manchester battles Hacker Elementary for the coveted Spider Thurman Bowl title.

The Spider Thurman Bowl, sponsored by The Manchester Enterprise and First National Bank, honors the legacy of Coach Spider Thurman, a beloved figure in Clay County athletics who devoted his career to youth sports and community development.
