Extension Service and their special guest, FCS Agent Kelsee Dewees, for Savor the Flavor- Cooking with Oils & Vinegars on March 11th at 11:00 a.m. at the Clay County Extension Office. We will learn about some of the most common types of cooking oils and flavored vinegars found in your grocery store — or they may be already in your cupboard! Call 598-2789 to register!

-Would you like to learn how to make beautiful greeting cards? Join our Homemaker Card Making Club! We meet the 2nd Tuesday of every month at 1:00 p.m. at the Clay County Extension Office. We always welcome new members. If you’re not already a Homemaker member, dues are $12 annually. Our next meeting will be March 12th!

-THE GATHERING, Festival at Oneida Community Park- May 4, 2024 starts at 11:00 a.m.

-Backroads of Appalachia Mountain Tour will be in downtown Manchester on May 18th. All are welcome! Cars, Bikes, Trucks, Offroad, Slingshots, if it has wheels come participate in this show! Event will be from 1-5 p.m.

-There will be an Area Corn Production Meeting on Thursday, March 21st at 6:00 p.m. at the Laurel County Extension Office. Registration is required, please call 598-2789. Dr. Chad Lee, Director of Grain and Forage Center of Excellence, Extension Professor and Dr. Jonathan Green, Extension Professor, Weed Science Program will be presenting at this year’s Area Corn Production Meeting. Topics will include corn varieties and weed control.

Graftage is the joining of a scion (bud or shoot) of the desired fruit tree cultivar to a plant with an established root system (rootstock). Knowledge of graftage is necessary for nurserymen and fruit tree producers. It is also a great hobby for backyard gardeners. Join us at the Laurel County Extension Office on Thursday, March 21st at 10:00 a.m. for this hands-on workshop. Our guest presenter, Stacy White, Extension Agent for Agriculture and Natural Resources in Whitley County, will demonstrate the best procedures for completing a successful graft.

-Clay Fiscal Court meets the second Thursday at 3 p.m. Special Note: The March Fiscal Court meeting has been moved to Friday, March 15th at 3:00 PM.
