Jimmie Lou Lipps

May 29, 2025

Jimmie Lou Lipps, 80, Whiteland, Indiana passed away Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at her residence. Born on April 13, 1945 in Manchester, KY, to the late Edd and Annabel Hubbard. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Pherman, and her infant son, Jeffrey David.
Jimmie Lou was a graduate of Clay County High School in Manchester, KY and a member of Faith Trinity Pentecostal Church in Shelbyville, IN. Jimmie held various retail positions over the years, but she found immense joy as a homemaker and caregiver to her family and those that she loved.
Jimmie Lou's legacy is carried on by her loving sons, Greg (Kim) and Tony (Tiffany), grandchildren, Jessica (Anthony), Hannah (Ryan), Camille (Thomas), Brady and Zahra, great grandchildren Nolan, Landyn, Hudson, Makenna and Pryor.
Jimmie also had deep love and adoration for her in-laws, the Lipps family. Only having one sibling that was much older than she was, she loved that her husband's family was so large and close-knit. Over the years, she always appreciated that they treated her and loved her as their own sibling.
Her faith in God and love of her family and friends were her guiding lights. Her warmth and kindness touched all who knew her. She never met a stranger and would show kindness and love to all those that she encountered. Jimmie had a deep love for children and there are countless babies that she held and loved on at church, ball games and other social gatherings. She was affectionately called "Grandma" by many folks outside of her immediate family.
Through her health struggles over the last several years, she rarely complained or focused on herself, choosing to put her focus on those around her. Countless medical staff and personnel would comment to her sons about her kind, gentle spirit and that she would always thank them for assisting her.
Jimmie Lou will be sorely missed, however she is now free of pain and is rejoicing with God, Pherman and many loved ones gone on before.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 31 from 11 am - 1 pm with the funeral immediately following at 1 pm at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, Greenwood Chapel, 481 West Main Street, Greenwood, IN 46142. She will be laid to rest in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Greenwood, Indiana.
