Superintendent issues statement on arrests of Clay juveniles

Clay Superintendent William Sexton has issued a statement to clarify the situation involving two Clay juveniles being arrested on charges brought by the Harlan County Board of Education.
"During Christmas break, while visiting the area, two Clay County juveniles were investigated for allegedly vandalizing property on Harlan County school grounds. The investigation led to the identification and arrest of the suspects. The juveniles were taken into custody by the Clay County Sheriff’s Office and have since been transported to the Breathitt County Juvenile Detention Center. The Clay County Superintendent is aware of the investigation and wants to assure the public that the vandalism occurred outside of regular school hours and was not related to any school-sponsored events." -- Clay Superintendent William Sexton.
