Gun, drugs, found on convicted felon

Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Cyruss McVey arrested Zebulun Kane Garner, age 46, of Manchester, KY, on Monday night, February 3, 2025, at approximately 10:45 PM.
The arrest occurred on Rockcastle River Forestry Road, approximately 8 miles north of London, while deputies and the Laurel County Constable's office conducted a traffic safety checkpoint on Highway 909 near I–75. An investigation was conducted on Garner, who was driving a Hyundai Elantra after determining that he was operating on a suspended license.
During the investigation, the driver was found in possession of a handgun and was determined to be under the influence.
In addition, the driver was found in possession of a syringe. It was also determined that the driver was a convicted felon.
Zebulun Kane Garner was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence – first offense; possession of a handgun by a convicted felon; operating on a suspended or revoked operator's license; possession of drug paraphernalia. This individual was lodged in the Laurel County correctional center.
