Mary Betty Jackson Smith

Mary Betty Jackson Smith, 99, formerly of Arjay, passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at her daughter's home in Orlando, FL. She was born in Clay County Ky on December 2, 1925, a daughter of the late Joe and Julie Jones Jackson. She was a member of Arjay Baptist Church and had worked as a cook for the Pineville Community Hospital and Arjay Elementary School. Mary Betty was a wonderful mother and a special person who always seemed happy.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Slusher Smith; brothers, Billy Jackson and Evertt Jackson; sisters, Marie Lowe and Jo Ann Jackson.
Mary Betty is survived by her children, Bille Jo Brock, Eloise Brown, America Sue Carroll and Ralph Smith and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, relatives and friends.
Services will be on Friday, January 17, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the Arjay Baptist Church. The music will be by the church family. A burial will follow at Green Hills Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends on Friday, January 17, 2025, from 1:00 Pm until the funeral hour.
