First Annual Richie Farmer Basketball Showcase Saturday

(MANCHESTER, Ky.) – Basketball season is right around the corner and what better what to kick it off than by honoring a Tiger legend! For the first time ever, Clay County High School and the Tiger Basketball team are hosting the Richie Farmer Basketball Showcase on November 23rd. 

It’s a loaded day of solid games, three to be exact. Clay County leads off against their rival from the 1980’s, Louisville Ballard. The Tigers and Richie Farmer defeated Louisville Ballard in 1987 to capture CCHS’ only men’s state championship. This will be a fantastic way to tip off the preseason. The Tigers and Ballard meet at 1:00PM. 

Following the Clay / Ballard game will be Taylor County vs OBI at 2:30PM. The third and final game of the day will be Mercer County vs Whitley County at 4:00PM. This will be a great event that hopefully continues for years to come.
