Danny Pearl Woods

Danny Pearl Woods, 70, passed away surrounded by family members on Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2024 at the UK Chandler Medical Center in Lexington. Born in Corbin to the late Betty Jean Sparks Woods and Henry David Woods, Jr. on Aug. 7, 1954. 

Danny was a graduate of the University of Kentucky and retired civil engineer. He worked for Brighton Engineering and Stantec during his career. Danny was an all-around outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish and believed strongly in conservation.  He was a proud member of the Kentucky Sportsman Association. Danny was also a skilled billiard player and member of the Bluegrass BCA Pool League. Danny was a great father figure.  He loved his family dearly, especially his grandkids.

Danny will be lovingly remembered by his children, Amanda (Jason) Woods Hall of Lexington, and Daniel (Casey) Woods of Midway, his grandchildren, Parker Woods Hall and Delaney Anne Hall, his siblings, William (Sharon) Woods, Joyce (George) Yonts, and Martha Woods, all of Bear Branch, Kentucky, Bobby Woods of Big Creek, Kentucky, and Freddy (Ladonna) Woods of Manchester, Kentucky, a hollerful (or holler full) of nieces and nephews, and his partner Cynthia Bruin King. Danny was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Anita Francis Apel Woods.

A Memorial Service for Danny was held 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 3, 2024 at Tucker, Yocum & Wilson Funeral Home. Visitation was held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. prior to the Service. Burial will take place at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 4, 2024 at Cave Hill Cemetery, 701 Baxter Avenue, Louisville, Kentucky 40204.
