Woman Says House ‘Looked Cool’ After Trespassing Arrest

Posted

MANCHESTER, Ky. — A Pikeville woman told deputies she entered a Clay County property because it “looked cool,” leading to her arrest on burglary and trespassing charges.

Clay County Sheriff’s Deputy Dustin Henson arrested Jessica Renee Johnson, 43, of Pikeville, after responding to a burglary in progress complaint at 7185 KY 80.

Upon arrival, Deputy Henson met with the caller, Sammy Gregory, and found Johnson on the property behind the residence near an open garage door. The caller stated there were two other individuals who fled into the woods before law enforcement arrived.

Johnson initially claimed she stopped at the property because she “had to pee,” but then changed her story, stating she and others were “checking out the residence because it looked cool” and they thought it was abandoned.

The caller identified the other individuals as Sarah Horn, Johnson’s sister, and Thomas Wagner, though their locations were unknown at the time of the report.

Johnson was charged with criminal trespassing (third degree) and burglary (third degree) – complicity.
