Virginia Gregory Chadwell, of Manchester, Kentucky, was born on November 1, 1946, in Sibert, Clay County, Kentucky. She was the beloved daughter of the late Cecil Gregory and Mabel Scalf Gregory. She was united in marriage to her loving husband, Letch Chadwell, who preceded her in death.
She leaves to cherish her memory her grandson, Charles William Chadwell of London, Kentucky; three siblings, Nannie Gregory and Larry Gregory, both of Manchester, Kentucky, and Nancy Hanson of Somerset, Kentucky; a step-son, Letch Chadwell, Jr. of Hobart, Oklahoma; four great-grandchildren, Chloe, Dustin, Lillian and Makenzie; plus a host of nieces, nephews, and other family and friends who mourn her passing.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her two children, Willie Cecil Chadwell and Loretta Collins, and two siblings, Martha Hubbard and Loucille Hicks.
Virginia was a devout Christian of the Pentecostal faith. She greatly enjoyed helping her husband, Letch, with his carpentry and painting work and took pride in working alongside him. She was a wonderful lady and a devoted caregiver to her family, always placing the needs of others before her own.
Virginia Gregory Chadwell went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, January 26, 2026, at the age of 79 years, 2 months, and 25 days.
The funeral service for Virginia Gregory Chadwell will be conducted at 2 pm Friday in the Bowling Funeral Home Chapel with Danny Stewart and Dudley Lincks officiating. Burial will follow in the Dobson Cemetery at Horse Creek in Clay County.
The family will receive friends beginning at 1 pm Friday until the funeral hour of 2 pm at Bowling Funeral Home.
