Rosa Hicks Sproles, 98, of Manchester, Kentucky, departed this life at her home on Tuesday, June 9, 2026. She was born on August 20, 1927, in Clay County, Kentucky, to the late Joe and Ollie Vaughn Hicks.
She leaves behind a loving family to cherish her memory, including her sons, Donnie Sproles and Eddie Joe Sproles, both of Lexington; her daughters, Valery King and Laura Etta Combs, both of Manchester; her sister, Nancy Hubbard of Manchester; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Farley Sproles; her daughter, Ollie Ann Sproles; and her brothers and sisters, Charles Hicks, William Hicks, Anderson Hicks, Theo Hicks, Bernice Cottongim, and Mattie Hicks.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at Britton Funeral Home, with Dudley Lynch and Paul Stewart officiating. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM on Saturday at the funeral home. Rosa will be laid to rest at Bundy Cemetery on Barbourville Road. She will be remembered with love by all who knew her.
