Minnie Pearl Johnson, of London, Kentucky, was born on November 9, 1936, in Clay County, Kentucky. She was the daughter of the late John Edd Philpot and Lena Hensley Philpot. She was united in marriage to Donald Joe Johnson, who preceded her in death.
Minnie Pearl is survived by six children: George Wade Gray, Ronnie Blaylock and wife Sherry, Jewelene Patsy, all of London; and Terry Johnson, Sammy Johnson, and Tommy Johnson, all of East Bernstadt, Kentucky. She also leaves behind twenty-one grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren, and a host of extended family and friends who loved her dearly and will cherish her memory.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by seven siblings: Calvin Philpot, Jesse Philpot, Bertha Mae Hensley Heffley, George Philpot, Isacre Philpot, Granville Philpot, and Lois Philpot.
Minnie Pearl Johnson departed this life on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, having reached the age of 89 years and 23 days. Her presence, love, and strength will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
The funeral service for Minnie Pearl Johnson was conducted at 1 pm Saturday in the Bowling Funeral Home Chapel with Josh Durham officiating. Burial followed in C.D. Ward Cemetery in East Bernstadt.
Pallbearers were Ronnie J. Blaylock, Christopher Blaylock, Joey Johnson, Justin Roberts, Jeff Buttery and Zachary Stewart.
