Mrs. Melva Jean Hubbard Gibson, age 78 of East Bernstad was born in Clay County, KY on September 28, 1945 to the late Chester and Hester Hubbard and departed this life on February 13, 2024 in the St. Joseph of Lexington Hospital. She was a member of River of Life Church and enjoyed going for walks, playing with the grandchildren, and time with family and friends.
In addition to her parents her husband: Hiram Gibson; a daughter: Sandra Kay Hubbard; a son: Clarence Hubbard, Jr.; and 2 sisters: Linda Hubbard and Jeweldine Hubbard preceded her in death.
She is survived by her loving children: Carol Estep and husband Carl, and Leroy Hubbard and wife Dianne all of East Bernstadt, and Lettie Gibson and husband Boyce, and Roy Hubbard, Jr. and wife Lorine all of Manchester; a brother: Jesse Hubbard and wife Nancy of Manchester; a sister: Brenda Hayre and husband Robert of Manchester; 14 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and many friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Melva Gibson will be conducted in the Irving Creek Holiness Church on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Andrew Fultz officiating. Burial will follow in the Manchester Memorial Gardens with Nephews, Family and Friends serving as Pallbearers. Barbourville Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
