MANCHESTER, Ky. — A Manchester man was killed Wednesday night after being struck by two vehicles while walking along U.S. Highway 421 North near Young Drive, according to the Kentucky State Police Post 11 in London.
Authorities said the accident occurred on October 22, 2025, at approximately 8:36 p.m., after Clay County 911 received multiple calls reporting a man walking in the roadway dressed in all black clothing.
Preliminary investigation determined that Shannon S. Bryant, 35, of Manchester, was walking in the northbound lane of U.S. 421 when he was first struck by a 2020 Cadillac XT4 driven by Hannah L. Hoskins, 20, of Manchester. Moments later, Bryant was struck a second time by a 2005 Buick Lacrosse operated by Marie C. Becknell, 62, also of Manchester, who was traveling northbound on the same highway.
Clay County EMS responded to the scene and transported Bryant to AdventHealth Manchester, where he was pronounced deceased at approximately 9:35 p.m. by the Clay County Coroner’s Office.
Detective Shane Bowling is leading the investigation, which remains ongoing. He was assisted at the scene by Kentucky State Police personnel, the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, Clay County EMS, and the Clay County Coroner’s Office.
