MANCHESTER — A Manchester man is facing multiple felony charges following a Kentucky State Police investigation that led to the seizure of a large quantity of suspected methamphetamine, prescription drugs, and several firearms from a residence on U.S. 421 North.

According to a post-arrest complaint, Abraham Mitchell, 37, of Manchester, was arrested Friday night, January 16, 2026, after troopers executed a search warrant at his residence located at 3762 U.S. 421 North.

Kentucky State Police Trooper Derek Dennis is listed as the lead investigator in the case.

The complaint states that at approximately 8:40 p.m., Troopers Mallory, Schwab, and Dennis executed the warrant in reference to illegal narcotics. Mitchell was contacted at the residence and advised of the search warrant prior to officers beginning the search.

During the investigation, Mitchell advised troopers that he had gabapentin in his bedroom. Troopers followed him upstairs, where he handed officers a bottle without a prescription label. Mitchell estimated the bottle contained approximately 140 tablets. The tablets were described as white in color and marked “D25,” consistent with 800-milligram gabapentin tablets.

After further conversation with troopers, Mitchell admitted to possessing methamphetamine and agreed to show officers where it was located. In a bedroom closet, Mitchell retrieved two bags from inside a pink jacket. The bags reportedly contained several small baggies of a crystal substance suspected to be methamphetamine, several orange tablets, and several packages of film suspected to be Suboxone. A digital scale with white residue was also found inside the jacket.

Troopers continued searching the closet and located additional small baggies containing a crystal substance, along with empty plastic baggies, inside the same jacket and in the pockets of a tan-colored pair of shorts lying on the closet floor.

The search also revealed multiple firearms inside the closet. Troopers seized a Kimber 9mm handgun and an Anderson AM-15 7.62 firearm, both of which had loaded magazines inserted but no round chambered. A Glock .380 caliber handgun was also located inside a vehicle in the driveway belonging to Mitchell.

The approximate total weight of the suspected methamphetamine seized was approximately 60 grams. Troopers also seized approximately 45 dosage units of Suboxone film and 27 orange Suboxone tablets.

All seized evidence was logged into the Kentucky State Police Post 11 evidence system, with photographs taken at the residence. Additional photographs are expected to be taken at the London KSP Post.

Mitchell was charged with:

  • Trafficking in a Controlled Substance, 1st Degree, 1st Offense (Methamphetamine, enhanced)
  • Trafficking in a Controlled Substance, 2nd Degree, 1st Offense (Schedule III drug, enhanced)
  • Trafficking in a Controlled Substance, 3rd Degree, 1st Offense (enhanced)
  • Drug Paraphernalia — Buy/Possess
  • Prescription Controlled Substance Not in Proper Container, 1st Offense
  • Endangering the Welfare of a Minor

The case remains under investigation by Kentucky State Police.
