MANCHESTER, Ky. — Liz Neff, a standout alumna of the Clay County High School Theatre program, has been honored with the Walt Disney Legacy Award, the highest recognition given to employees within Disney Experiences.
Neff, remembered locally as one of the all-time greats to pass through the Tiger Troupe, earned a reputation during her high school years for taking on challenging roles, achieving honors up to the state level, and never missing a single rehearsal or performance. Known for her cheerful disposition and unwavering dependability, she quickly became a cornerstone of the program.
“I knew how special she was when I was her director, and now the Walt Disney Co. has seen the same in her,” her former director of the Tiger Troupe, Donnie Stevens, reflected.
After high school, Neff pursued her dream career at Walt Disney World, where she has worked as a cast member for several years. The Walt Disney Legacy Award, symbolized by a distinctive blue name tag, is given to less than 1% of all Disney employees worldwide. The award is peer-nominated and recognizes those who embody Walt Disney’s core values: Dream, Create, and Inspire.
As a proud member of the Tiger Troupe Alumni Hall of Honor, Neff continues to serve as an inspiration both to current students and to the Clay County community.
“Liz is and will forever be our biggest fan, and her star is shining now more than ever,” the tribute read.
