Jerry Wayne Whitis, age 56, of Manchester, Kentucky passed away on Friday, March 27, 2026.
He leaves behind his mother, Eloise Proffitt Whitis; his son, Austin D. Whitis of Manchester, KY; his sister, Lisa R. Smith & husband Donnie of Manchester, KY; plus a host of other family and friends to cherish his memory.
He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Estil Whitis.
Jerry had a deep appreciation for entertainment and music. He especially enjoyed watching wrestling, often following his favorite matches with excitement and enthusiasm. He was also a fan of rock and roll music, finding comfort and energy in its timeless rhythms and sounds. Whether it was the thrill of a match or the beat of a favorite song, Jerry knew how to enjoy the moment.
He will be remembered for his easygoing nature and the quiet happiness he found in the things he loved. His presence will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Though he may be gone from this life, the memories he leaves behind will continue to bring comfort and remind us of a life simply and sincerely lived.
A graveside service for Jerry Wayne Whitis were held on Tuesday, March, 31, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at the Blair Family Cemetery in London, Kentucky with Cecil Benge and Dennis Proffitt officiating. The family entrusted House-Rawlings Funeral Home with the arrangements.
