It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jean Maxine Henson, a beloved mother, faithful child of God, and doting Mamaw. Jean, age 83, departed this life on December 10, 2025, at 8:45 am at her home in Lexington, Ky.
Jean is survived by her children, Chester Henson Jr (Lisa) of Lagrange, KY, Carlo "Doc" Henson of Lexington, KY, Clover Henson of Louisville, KY, Tina Fuller (Stephen) of Lexington, KY, Patricia Henson of Columbia, SC, Morallia Tran (Michael) of Shelbyville, KY, Mary Henson (Ravi) of Lexington, KY, and Cedric Henson of Lexington, KY. She is the loving Mamaw to 22 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
She also leaves to mourn her passing a sister, Bob Fullwood of Lexington, KY, and brothers, Herbert "Dobber" Philpot of Manchester, KY, and Harold "Buddy Boy" Fullwood of Lexington, KY. She is survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Jean is preceded in death by her spouse, Chester "Chess" Henson Sr.; children, Reamone Henson and William Henson; parents, William "Oldie" Philpot and Glasco "Berta" Fullwood; and her brother, Russell "Tiny" Philpot.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Britton Funeral Home. Burial followed at Birch Cemetery.
Jean will be remembered for her devotion to God, her love, warmth, humor, and kind spirit.
