Jean Fields Hoskins

Posted
Jean Fields Hoskins was born October 14, 1945, in Oneida, Kentucky, to the late Arthur McKinley Fields and Iva Ann Smith. She was a 1964 graduate of Bush High School, where she was a cheerleader.

On March 21, 1964, she married the love of her life, Manuel Marnell Hoskins. For 58 years, they shared their lives together until his passing on July 25, 2022.

Jean and Marnell shared in their lives serving the Lord as members of Blackwater United Baptist Church. She was a lifelong member there and faithfully attended services.

Though she never had children of her own, Jean loved children, especially her nieces and nephews.

Jean was preceded in death by her beloved Marnell; her parents; and four siblings: brothers Denvis Fields and Willis Fields; sisters Alpha Brown and Florence Asher.

She is survived by her siblings: brothers Boyd (Carolyn) Fields and Lynn Fields; sisters Goldie (Vernon) Blanton and Chryl Taylor; plus a host of nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.

Our loss here is heaven's gain. Though she is gone from our sight, Jean is celebrating with her Savior Jesus and all of her loved ones.

A funeral service honoring Jean Fields Hoskins will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home with Roger Hayre and Marty Nolan officiating. Interment will follow at Hoskins Cemetery in London, Kentucky. The family will receive friends on Thursday beginning at 12:00 p.m. until the funeral hour, also at the funeral home. The family has entrusted House-Rawlings Funeral Home with the arrangements.
