MANCHESTER, Ky. — Horse Creek Baptist Church celebrated its 156th Annual Homecoming on Sunday morning with a large crowd filling the sanctuary to honor more than a century and a half of faith, fellowship, and community.
John “Boo” Smith, pastor of Cross Mountain Fellowship Church, delivered the morning message, reflecting on the deep personal and spiritual impact Horse Creek Baptist has had on his life. Smith shared how the church’s members influenced him when he was saved there more than 25 years ago, calling the congregation “a family that never stopped praying for me and never stopped believing in what God could do.”
Following the service, members and guests gathered in the fellowship hall for a home-cooked meal and warm fellowship, continuing a beloved tradition that has been part of the church’s homecoming for generations.
Pastor Scottie Sumner expressed his gratitude for the strong turnout and enduring faith of the congregation.
“It’s truly amazing to see how God has blessed this church for 156 years,” Sumner said. “We’re thankful for everyone who came home to celebrate with us and for those who continue to carry on the mission of Horse Creek Baptist Church.”
