Harrel Wayne Smith, age 75, of Manchester, Kentucky passed away on Friday, October 20, 2023.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 50 years, Teresa Sulfridge Smith; five children, Steven Smith & wife Melissa of London, KY, Tina Vetor & husband James of East Bernstadt, KY, Heather Messer & husband David of Manchester, KY, David Smith & wife Shannon of London, KY, Lacey Smith & fiancé Curtis of Independence, KY; a granddaughter whom he raised as his own child, Alexis Vetor & fiancé Cody Feltner; six siblings, Barbara Frazier of Franklin, IN, Charles Smith & wife Margie of London, KY, Brenda Smith & husband Bennie of London, KY, Nona Parker of Corbin, KY, Joy Cupp & husband Conrad of London, KY, Vickie McFarland of Corbin, KY; seventeen grandchildren, Willow Smith, Calamity Smith, Prudence Smith, Shawn Vetor, David Lee Smith, Nathan Smith, Gracie Smith, Jacob Vetor, Preston Vetor, Brittany Bennett, Ashley Bennett, Kaylee Bennett, Dalton Messer, Jaxon Messer, Victoria Pennington, Liz Smith, Dylan Smith; four great grandchildren, Devyn Vetor, Archer Vetor, Madelynn Vetor, Ollie Pennington; plus, a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert Ellis and Gladys Anderson Smith; his son, Harold Wayne Smith Jr., and by two sisters, Joyce Ellen Philpot, Mellisa Nadine Frazier.
Harrell was retired having worked as an equipment operator. He liked to fish and enjoyed watching UK basketball. He was a hard worker, and he loved his family very much.
Funeral services for Harrel Wayne Smith will be held on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home with Bro. Garry Lady officiating. Burial will follow at Warren Grove Cemetery in London, Kentucky. The pallbearers will be David Lee Smith, David Lee Smith II, Jacob Vetor, James Vetor, Preston Vetor and Cody Feltner. The family will receive friends on Monday, October 23, 2023 beginning at 6:00 p.m. also at the funeral home. The family has entrusted House-Rawlings Funeral Home with the arrangements.
