Franklin Barrett, Jr. age 87, of Manchester, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at Saint Joseph East Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky. He was born on May 5, 1939, in Manchester, Kentucky, to the late Frank and Polly Runion Barrett.
Franklin is survived by his children, Travis Barrett and wife Hannah of Manchester, Lonnie Barrett of Manchester, Donna Henson and husband Tony of Manchester, and JoAnn Barrett of London; his granddaughter, Priscilla Wagers; his sister, Rosetta Mathis of Manchester; and a host of other family and friends who will mourn his passing and cherish his memory.
In addition to his parents, Franklin was preceded in death by his children, Melissa Barrett and Debra Barrett; his grandson, Brandon Spurlock; and his siblings, Robert Barrett, Ernest Barrett, Irvin Barrett, Oscar Barrett, Jessie Barrett, Marie Sizemore, and Elizabeth Cole.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at Jacks Branch Bible Church, with Jessie Barrett officiating.
