Farris Gilbert, age 75, of Manchester, Kentucky, passed away Friday, April 24th, at the Hazard ARH Regional Medical Center.
He was born on December 23, 1950, in Oneida, Kentucky, to the late Walker Gilbert and Lucy McIntosh Gilbert Halcomb.
Farris was a hardworking man who spent his life as a truck driver. He proudly served his country in the United States Army.
He is survived by his son, Farris Gregory Gilbert of Topmost, Kentucky (Rachel); his daughter, America Gilbert of Manchester, Kentucky; and his stepdaughter, Janie Caldwell of Big Creek (Chris). He is also survived by his brothers, Carl Gilbert of Oneida (Karen) and Warren Gilbert of Oneida (Brenda); and his sisters, Wilma Ohe of Oneida (P.J.) and Wanda Gilbert. Along with several grandchildren, including Connor Gilbert, Kelly Bowling, Isabella Gilbert, and Brittany Bowling. As well as other loving family members and friends. In addition to his father, Farris is preceded in death by his sister, Edith Louise Barger; and by his son-in-law, David Fields.
Farris will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his service to his country, and his hardworking nature.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
