Elmer Rush Jr., age 87, of London, KY passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2023.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Edna Carol Gross Rush; seven children, Kathy Evans of Corbin, KY, Terry Rush of Alabama, Joyce Rush of Manchester, KY, Roger Rush & wife Sharon of London, KY, Gary Rush of London, KY, Judy Smith & husband Eddie of East Bernstadt, KY, Becky Pushard & husband John of Radcliff, KY, a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and other family and friends to mourn his passing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer Rush Sr. & Hazel Cobb Rush; his first wife, Lorene Bowling Rush; six siblings, Elvis Rush, Kelly Rush, Kenneth Rush, Roy Dean Rush, Doris Reams, Lois Floyd; one granddaughter, Kayla Evans.
Junior was a self-employed brick layer by trade, he loved playing Corn-hole and gardening. He enjoyed sitting on his porch watching the birds and squirrels but most of all he loved spending time with his family. He was a humble, precious man that will be missed by all who loved and knew him.
A funeral service honoring Elmer Rush Jr. will be held on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home with David Dial and Gary Elza officiating. Burial will follow at the Old Salem cemetery in London, KY. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 beginning at 6:00 p.m. until the funeral hour also at the funeral home. The family has entrusted House-Rawlings Funeral Home with the arrangements.
