Bart Collins Jr., age 83, of London, Kentucky passed away on Sunday, September 17, 2023.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 61 years, Joyce Hensley Collins; two children, Elaine Salyers & Dustin Collins, both of London, KY; his sister, Ola Ruth Reinking of Indianapolis, IN; four grandchildren, Monica Salyers & husband Tate, Jason Collins, Travis Collins & wife Ashley, Kelsey Gabbard & husband Charlie; six great grandchildren, Tanner, Breanna, Harrison, Ava, Ryder & Charlie Kate; plus a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bart Collins Sr. and Stella Smith Collins; two sons, Eric Collins, Dwayne Collins; and by five siblings, Marion Casey Collins, Dewey Collins, A.T. Collins, Leona Nantze, Margaret Mills.
Bart worked as a coal miner for over 25 years. He was the owner/operator of Red Bird Service Station in Manchester and co-owner of E & D Auto Sales with his late son, Eric. He was a heavy equipment operator. Bart enjoyed working on muscle cars, and he liked drag racing.
Funeral services for Bart Collins Jr. will be held on Thursday, September 21, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home with Rev. J. D. Hensley officiating. Burial will follow at the Bart Collins Sr. Cemetery in Manchester, Kentucky. The family will receive friends on Thursday, September, 21, 2023 beginning at 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour, also at the funeral home. The pallbearers will be Dustin Collins, Tanner Cupp, Tate Cupp, Jason Collins, Travis Collins, Marion Collins, Danny Ealy and David Bruce Ealy. The family has entrusted House-Rawlings Funeral Home with the arrangements.
