The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of an upcoming asphalt resurfacing project on KY 80 in Clay County beginning Monday, August 17.

The project will extend from mile point 0.0 at the Clay/Laurel County line to mile point 7.537 at the junction with KY 2076, U.S. 421 and KY 11.

Work will consist of resurfacing the roadway with a thin lift of asphalt along with updated pavement striping.

Motorists should expect delays while work is underway. Traffic will be controlled by flagging operations with lane closures in place when necessary.

The project is expected to be completed by Wednesday, Sept. 30.

The date, time, and duration of work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen delays occur.
