Loaded field awaits Manchester City Council race

14 people will compete for eight positions on the Manchester City Council come November.
The filing deadline passed on January 5th with all eight current members seeking re-election.
Those members are: Earl Owens, Tracie White, Russell Gregory, Darnell Hipsher, Betty Meredith, Charles "Dobber" Weaver, Dorothy Sizemore and Josh Jackson.
They will face a challenge from: Mark Deaton, Tim McGinty, Whitney Smith, Wanda White, Donna Allen and Wes Brumley.
Residents of the city of Manchester will vote in the November General Election. Council members serve two-year terms and the mayor serves a four-year term.
