Marie Gibson

Marie Gibson was born January 16, 1929, in Clay County, KY and departed this life on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at her residence in Tyner, at the age of 94. She was the daughter of the late Delbert & Bessie York.

Marie is survived by six children, Sandra Amyx of McKee, John (Paulette) Gibson of Goshen, OH, Billy Joe (Ginger) Gibson, Delbert (Hope) Gibson, Michael Gibson (Amy Russell) and Denver Gibson Jr. (Diane Flannery) all of Tyner. She was blessed with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Marie was also preceded in death by her husband, Denver Gibson; by seven children, Jerry Gibson, Dorothy Jean Carter, Jimmy Gibson, Mary Gibson, Ronnie Gibson, Thelma Gibson and Donnie Gibson; by a brother, James York and by two sisters, Bobbie Bray and Beulah Poff.

Marie was a member of the Conway Missionary Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, December 16, 2023, at Lakes Funeral Home with Bro. Michael Mullins officiating. Burial to follow in the Gibson & York Cemetery. Lakes Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. www.lakesfuneralhomemckee.com
