Lady Tiger golf downs North Laurel

(MANCHESTER, Ky.) – Off and running this season, the Clay County Lady Tiger Girls Golf Team continued their winning streak in match play this week. Coach Amy Janutolo and the team are on a mission to bring home a 2023 region title, and they’re relying on consistency each outing.

On August 7th the Lady Tigers hosted North Laurel at Big Hickory, with the Lady Tigers shooting a 189 to North’s 238 to bring home the match play victory. Leading the team was Avery Janutolo, shooting two over par at 38. Hallie Hooker shot a 43, Kara Hensley 48, Alivia Hoskins 60, and Isabella Couch 62.

Fast forward to August 8th, and Avery Janutolo competed in the Madison Central Invitational in Richmond. Janutolo shot a 78 to place her at 7th in the field of 90 golfers. Closing out the week on Saturday, the Lady Tigers traveled to Eagles Nest in Somerset for the Lady Maroons Invitational. The team battled heavy rains and lightning delays throughout the day. Avery Janutolo shot an 87, Kara Hensley shot 113, and Isabella Couch shot 122.

Coach Janutolo is very pleased with the work and determination the team has as they work toward their goal of making a strong appearance at region in September.
