MANCHESTER, Ky. — The Clay County Board of Education has announced Tyler Culver as the new principal of Big Creek Elementary, marking a new chapter for the school community.

Culver, who most recently served an instructional coach at Burning Springs Elementary, expressed his gratitude and enthusiasm in a public statement following the announcement.

“I am very excited for the opportunity to be Principal at Big Creek Elementary! Thank you to Mr. William Sexton and the Site Base Council for entrusting me with this important role,” Culver said. “Thank you to Mrs. Kendra Hooker for your mentorship and leadership that have prepared me for this opportunity. Thank you to the staff and students at Burning Springs for all of your hard work and support that has led to this opportunity for me today.”

Culver also addressed the Big Creek community directly.

“To the Big Creek Family: I am excited about this exciting new chapter for all of us. I have tremendous respect for the leadership that has come before me, and I will work hard every day to lead us all forward to success. Go Indians!”

Clay County Superintendent William Sexton praised the selection, saying Culver brings the right mix of experience and energy to the role.

“Tyler Culver is a dedicated educator and a strong leader who has earned the respect of his peers and students alike,” Sexton said. “We are confident he will continue the tradition of excellence at Big Creek Elementary and help guide the school to even greater success.”
