MANCHESTER, Ky. — Manchester City Police have charged a Needmore Hollow Road man after he allegedly punched his mother in the face, leaving her injured and unable to speak.

Christopher Lee Hubbard, 42, of Needmore Hollow Road, was taken into custody and charged with second-degree assault following the incident, which occurred on June 11.

According to the Manchester Police Department, Officer Brayden Gibbs responded to a complaint involving an assault on a female by her son. Upon arrival, Officer Gibbs made contact with the victim, Diane Hubbard, who was bleeding from her face and unable to communicate due to the severity of her injuries.

A witness at the scene, Alexander Dezanett, told police that Christopher Hubbard approached the victim and said, “I’m tired of this s---,” before striking his mother in the jaw with a closed fist.

The victim later advised officers that this was not the first time her son had assaulted her.

With assistance from Clay County Sheriff's Deputy Jordan Duncil, officers located Hubbard in a nearby parking lot. He was arrested without incident.

Diane Hubbard was transported by emergency personnel to AdventHealth Manchester for medical treatment.
