Carl Dean Mitchell

Carl Dean Mitchell, age 91, gained his heavenly wings on June 12th, 2025 at Lake Cumberland Hospice Center. He was born January 13th, 1934 in Manchester, KY to the late Steve and Annalee (Wagers) Mitchell.

He is preceded in death by his beloved son, Kenneth Mitchell. By the following siblings: Donald Mitchell, Jessie Mitchell, Roy Mitchell, Mossie Smith, Georgia Gray, Bernice Mitchell and Marie Mitchell.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Dorsie Mitchell. By his children, Wanda Murray of London, KY and Sandy Mitchell and Tony Mitchell of Manchester, KY. By his siblings Lena "Jill" Stone, Nancy Woods and Bernett Holland. By his grandchildren, Travis Couch, Chayse Couch, Autumn Ross, Amber Ealy (Adam), Matthew Mitchell (Toni) and Nathan Mitchell (Emily).And his great-grandchildren, Brodie Ross, Kenley Mitchell, Bristol Ross, Kaiden Mitchell, Huxton Roberts, Tatum Mitchell and Theodore Dean Ealy.

Carl was a coal miner for over 40 years until he retired. He was a deacon at Happy Hill Holiness Church where he had been a member for many years. He was an avid gardener and always took pride in his harvest and loved when people complimented his garden.

Funeral service for Carl Mitchell will be conducted on Monday, June 16th at 2:00 PM at Britton Funeral Home with Ernie Asher, Roy Lane Woods and Paul Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at the Steve Mitchell Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 16th at 12:00 PM at Britton Funeral Home.
