May 20, 2025

Volunteers of America Mid-States is making good progress on apartment buildings that are being added to the Freedom House campus in Clay County.
The apartments will house clients in the Intensive Outpatient Program.
There will be three two-story buildings, each with two separate apartments, and three one-story buildings, each with two separate apartments.
A total of 12 clients, along with their children, will live there.
An administrative building will also be built on the campus, and it will house four clinical therapists, a targeted case manager, a registered nurse, and a certified peer-support specialist.
VOA’s Freedom House is a nationally recognized residential treatment program for pregnant and parenting women. As the only program of its kind in Kentucky, Freedom House allows mothers to receive comprehensive treatment for substance use disorder while keeping their families intact. By integrating parenting support, healthcare, and early childhood services, it addresses the generational impact of addiction and promotes family stability.
The Clay County facility, at 8467 North Hwy 421 in Manchester, will eventually accommodate 300 women and their children annually.
Freedom House is hiring, and they need two clinical therapists for this campus. Please scan this QR code to apply.
A healthy Clay County requires great community news.
