AdventHealth is proud to announce the addition of Dr. Christopher G. Yeary, D.O., FACOS, FACS, to our esteemed team of healthcare professionals. Dr. Yeary is a distinguished general surgeon with over seven years of experience in the medical field. He is board-certified in General Surgery by the American Board of Osteopathic Medicine and has dedicated his career to serving the Appalachian communities in Kentucky, Virginia, and Tennessee.
Dr. Yeary's medical journey began with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Alice Lloyd College, followed by a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the University of Pikeville – Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his General Surgery Residency at Garden City Hospital in Michigan.
Throughout his career, Dr. Yeary has held various positions, including Wound Care Physician at Restorix Wound Care Center and General Surgeon at Hazard Appalachian Regional Medical Center. He specializes in minimally invasive surgery and wound care, approaching medicine with humor and kindness. Known for his excellent communication skills and willingness to tackle new procedures, Dr. Yeary is committed to providing exceptional care to his patients.
Dr. Yeary will be joining the team alongside Dr. Gregory Wilkens, Shonda Tucker, APRN, and Emma Sams, PA. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Yeary has contributed to numerous research publications and lectures. He is also a volunteer faculty member at several institutions, including Lincoln Memorial University and the University of Kentucky. Outside of his professional life, Dr. Yeary enjoys amateur farming, reading, and going to the movies. He is known among friends and family for his nerdy interests, including collecting comic books.
