Mother Charged After Alleged Assault on 11-Year-Old Outside Clairton Elementary School

Clairton, PA — A disturbing incident outside Clairton Elementary School has led to assault and harassment charges against a 40-year-old woman accused of attacking an 11-year-old girl following a bullying dispute involving her son.

According to Clairton police, Jasmine Snow allegedly assaulted the young girl on April 1, shortly after school dismissal. Surveillance footage reportedly shows Snow striking the child in the face, pushing her to the ground, and dragging her before a bystander intervened. Snow then fled the scene by car.

The victim’s father, William Spencer, said his daughter has been the target of repeated bullying by Snow’s 7-year-old son, a situation that began over a video chat in March. Spencer said he contacted the school principal in an effort to resolve the matter and even requested a meeting with the boy’s parents. Instead, he says the harassment escalated, with his daughter receiving threatening and profane messages in the days leading up to the assault.

“It’s terrible—the bullying is terrible—and when you try to be civil, it fails,” Spencer told reporters.

As a result of the assault, Spencer’s daughter suffered a concussion and is experiencing blurred vision in her left eye. “I’m praying that she gets full eyesight back,” he said.

Following the incident, Spencer made the decision to withdraw his daughter from the Clairton City School District.

In a statement, the district said it is cooperating fully with the investigation:
“Clairton City School District is unable to comment on an ongoing police investigation at this time. However, we are fully cooperating with the authorities. We are deeply saddened by any instance of violence in our community. The safety and well-being of our students and staff remain our top priority.”

Jasmine Snow is facing formal charges as the investigation continues.
