Richmond Woman Arrested After Allegedly Attempting to Set Husband, Home on Fire

RICHMOND, Ky. — A Richmond woman is facing multiple felony charges after police say she attempted to set her husband and their home on fire during a domestic dispute on Saturday afternoon.
Officers with the Richmond Police Department responded to a call on Sweet Gum Drive around 1 p.m., following a domestic violence complaint.
According to the arrest citation, 40-year-old Tina Marshall allegedly attempted to ignite her husband with a lighter during an argument. Police say the situation escalated further when Marshall reportedly tried to strangle him and prevented him from escaping or calling for help.
The couple’s daughter, who was present during the incident, locked herself in a bathroom and contacted authorities.
Marshall was taken into custody and is facing a series of serious charges, including:
- First-degree attempted arson
- First-degree wanton endangerment
- Kidnapping (adult victim)
- Second-degree assault (domestic violence)
- Fourth-degree assault (domestic violence)
- Third-degree terroristic threatening
- First-degree strangulation (domestic violence related)
- Menacing
Marshall is currently being held as the investigation continues. Police have not released additional information regarding the condition of the victim.
