Police say teacher created AI-generated porn of his students

CORINTH, Miss. - A former teacher from a Mississippi school district is now facing criminal charges for allegedly using artificial intelligence to create explicit videos of students.
Wilson Jones, who the Corinth School District employed, was arrested on Wednesday and charged with producing and possessing morphed images of child pornography. The school district has confirmed that the 30-year-old is no longer employed.
The Mississippi Department of Education filed a complaint with the Corinth Police Department on February 27, alleging Jones violated the Mississippi Educator Code of Ethics. A subpoena was issued to seize his laptop and a thumb drive.
Upon reviewing the contents, police identified eight female students, aged between 14 and 16, as victims of AI-generated video footage depicting them in sexually exploitative conduct. The police clarified that the victims were never filmed; instead, Jones allegedly used images from their social media accounts to generate the AI footage5. The victims' parents were immediately notified after the discovery.
According to federal court documents, in November, the principal of Corinth Middle School was alerted to suspicious activity on Jones' computer by the Bark app, which monitors and controls online activity on all school district computers. An email from Bark showed a “severe” alert tagged as “sexual” from Jones' computer. The school's IT director accessed Jones' computer and reviewed three explicit videos that were flagged. Jones allegedly uploaded the content to his Google Drive, which triggered the Bark alert. The videos reportedly depict students kissing and exposing themselve.
The school's principal and vice principal confronted Jones about the discovery the next day. According to the affidavit, Jones admitted to creating the videos using AI but claimed they were not sexual.
The Corinth School District released the following statement about the case:

“The Corinth School District internet filtering system alerted district administration of inappropriate activity on a teacher computer. The District investigated the complaint, took action, and reported the matter, as required, to the Mississippi Department of Education Office of Educator Misconduct. Since this relates to the employment of a former school district employee and is subject to a current law enforcement investigation, the District cannot offer any additional comment at this time. The District has cooperated and will continue to cooperate with any law enforcement request for assistance.”
